Pic-Time alternatives: what you still need beyond galleries

If you are looking for Pic-Time alternatives, it is probably not because the galleries disappointed you. Pic-Time makes some of the most beautiful client galleries in the industry: cinematic covers, an AI album designer, face and selfie search, and print sales that run on autopilot.

People usually start looking because of everything around the gallery. Pic-Time is, by design, a gallery and print store platform. Your website, your booking calendar, your contracts and your invoices live somewhere else, connected through integrations.

Full disclosure: we make Arcadina, which is one of the alternatives. So this is not a neutral review. What we can do is be specific about what to check, and be explicit about where Pic-Time beats us. That section is at the bottom and it is not padding.

Photographer website and Arcadina gallery dashboard on two screens

1. Where will your website live?

Pic-Time does not include a website builder. It gives you a portfolio page designed to be embedded in a site you already have. Its own partner page points photographers to StyleCloud, a WordPress-based website builder, with a first-year discount.

That is fine if you already have a site you love. If you are starting from scratch, the real comparison is not «Pic-Time» but «Pic-Time + a website + hosting + a domain»: two dashboards, two subscriptions, two support teams.

In Arcadina your photography website, galleries and store share one account and one login. With an annual Website plan or Suite, your domain is free for the first year.

2. Where do booking, contracts and invoices happen?

Running a studio is not only delivering photos. It is locking in a date, taking a deposit, getting a contract signed, sending reminders and invoicing at the end.

Pic-Time does none of this on its own. It connects to studio management tools such as HoneyBook, Studio Ninja, Iris Works, Light Blue and Pixifi. Some of them are excellent, but each one is another subscription and another place where client data lives.

Arcadina includes it: a booking page with deposits, session campaigns (mini sessions, holidays, school days), contracts with online signature, automatic reminders and invoices generated straight from the session or the order.

3. How much of each sale do you keep?

Pic-Time’s commission model has a few conditions worth reading carefully. According to its help centre:

  • On the Free and Beginner plans, a 15% commission on your profit margin always applies to store sales, however you set up payments.
  • On Professional and Advanced, you can sell commission-free, as long as you collect payments yourself through your own Stripe, PayPal or Square account.
  • If Pic-Time collects payments for you, which is the default, it keeps a commission that drops on higher plans and pays out your profits to PayPal twice a month.

It is a fair model and it is clearly documented. But commission-free selling means being on a $21-a-month plan or higher and setting up your own payment processing.

Arcadina charges no commission on any plan, starting with the $10-a-month galleries and store plan. Payments go straight to your own PayPal or Stripe account.

4. How many tools do you want to pay for?

Pic-Time’s prices as of October 15, 2026, billed annually:

  • Free: $0, with 10 GB that drops to 3 GB after three months.
  • Beginner: $7 a month, 20 GB.
  • Professional: $21 a month, 100 GB.
  • Advanced: $42 a month, unlimited storage.

Add a website platform and, if you need it, a studio management tool, and that is the real monthly bill.

Arcadina sells three independent plans: galleries and store, website, and booking and contracts. You buy only what you need, or take the Suite with everything at a discount. Every plan can be tried for 30 days with no card.

5. What happens when you need help at 11pm?

Pic-Time offers 24/7 support for photographers and live chat for gallery visitors. That is a real strength.

Arcadina’s AI-assisted first line answers chat around the clock in English, Spanish and Italian, built on the product’s own documentation. When it needs to hand over, our human team works European hours. If you are in California and want a person on the line at any hour, that is a genuine drawback, and it is better you hear it from us.
